Flight Musings Part 2: Uncertainty

When do we engage in national hot topics? How do we care without running to put out every new fire? We can’t solve all the problems of the world, or even some of them. Why would we even engage?

Pause. Restart.

I remember - we wire our whole lives towards justice and love, of course. We invest long-term where it matters, and we step into crises when we can. Both matter, both hold weight. We ask Jesus for direction, and we listen closely. We study scripture. We know ourselves. We pay attention to our anger and tears and joy, and we seek to love in small and large ways. 

Rewind. 

The issue is so large, overwhelming. We can’t do anything. Our hands our tied. We won’t make a difference. Even if we helped a few people, there are thousands more. 

Pause. Restart. 

The only ones who make a difference are the ones who believe they can. I must believe I can. I will pray for eyes to see what God is already doing.
