Immigration 101: Key Terms

The policy around immigration is deeply nuanced and incredibly important.

Also - the stories of our lives are deeply nuanced and incredibly important.

It's in the marriage of our lives with this learning that we find that we can stand together, draw near, learn to love. 

I’ve found how little I knew about immigration, and these definitions provide a framework for some important language to begin the conversation. I learned and saw many of these details on the trip; I came home and have spent hours more in research. I've worked hard to find data from either neutral news sources  (see allsides.com to find where your news source leans!) or from those directly working on the frontline. Sharing about such a political space makes me afraid. As my friend encouraged me last week, “Tell the truth.” I’m seeking to do just that.
